Kezia Obama to Continue Charity Online Bingo Games

Recently the stepmother of US president Barack Obama launched a charity internet bingo game to benefit her favorite charity, the Sue Ryder charity. Sue Ryder Care provides “compassionate care and support for people living with serious illnesses and conditions, as well as their families and loved ones.” Sue Ryder Care helps people in the UK suffering from Parkinson’s Disease, Alzheimer’s and Multiple Sclerosis.

Mrs. Obama launched the internet bingo games in January of 2009 and they instantly became a big hit. Mrs. Obama partnered with the UK based Gala Bingo to produce the charity online bingo games. The games were successful and Clive Cottrel, head of marketing at Gala Bingo stated, “After only an hour’s play a day for 10 days, ‘Mrs Obama’s Bingo’ raised around £10,000. We are delighted to match that amount, which means £20,000 will go to our group-wide charity Sue Ryder Care.”

Kezia Obama, 67, who lives in Bracknell, is a long time bingo fanatic. The success of the earlier online bingo games prompted Mrs. Obama to continue the games with the goal of raising one million pounds by 2010. At present Mrs. Obama is looking forward to visiting her step son and staying at the White House this summer. She was a very special guest at Barack Obama’s inauguration and was very impressed with what she saw. Mrs Obama said, “I was so surprised and so excited to think I will be staying in the White House . It’s too good to be true.” We wish Mrs. Obama the best of luck.
