Bingo Caller Releases Hit Single in UK

According to several bingo news sources there is a new threat to the irascible Simon Cowell’s reign over the UK music industry. A bingo caller from Wallsend has just announced plans to record and release his own pop single. The song, titled Everyone Wants a Piece of Me’ will be available on digital music giants Amazon and iTunes. The bingo caller, Wayne McFarlane, compared his recent success to winning the popular X Factor and says that the opportunity is like ‘a dream come true.’ McFarlane has always had a passion for singing and was a regular at a local karaoke bar, Last Orders.

McFarlane never thought his singing would ever result in a massive career change. Singer and music producer Dave Turner wandered into Last Orders and hears McFarlane sing. He was so impressed that he approached Wayne and discussed the possibility of releasing a pop record. Wayne remembered the fateful night and stated “I couldn’t believe it at first, when Dave approached me and said he wanted to sign me to his record label, I thought it was a joke. Things like this don’t happen to an ordinary bloke like me who works full-time in a bingo hall. I go to Last Orders pub in Wallsend every Thursday for karaoke, I love it, but I never thought it would lead to anything. This is a dream come true and I could get rocketed to stardom. “

During the visit Dave noticed another local talent, Jessica Wood, who has joined McFarlane on the single. Turner is an experienced producer who has already had a number one hit in Barbados. Turner’s hit single, Say Goodbye, sold 230,000 copies globally and the song helped to raise funds for a war veteran’s charity Help for Heroes.  Help for Heroes is a charity devoted to helping wounded UK veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Turner’s single hit the number 1 spot in the Caribbean and stayed there for two weeks.  Today Wayne and Jessica are promoting their pop single which is duet about the pressures of being in demand. Wayne has been making the rounds of radio stations promoting the single.

Although for now Wayne has left the bingo world it is almost inevitable he will reappear as a bingo icon of sorts. If the single is a hit Wayne could easily go on to a high paid career as a spokesman for an online bingo site.
