While the internet is a wonderful place to do a variety of tasks from seeking information, to shopping or doing other tasks, we need to maintain our safety when doing so. One task that many people enjoy doing online these days is gambling. Online casinos have been created and are great in number. However, with any good things there is some risk. Any information passed through the internet is vulnerable to be intercepted by people who simply do not have pure intentions. However, to mitigate this risk, online casinos such as ladbrokes.com have developed very secure methods of protection as they continue to protect their players.
Encryption is an important aspect of online casino security. Encryption protects your data as it is being sent via electronically. It actually takes your data and essentially scrambles it up so no one can discern it accurately. Today, the most used form of encryption if 124-bit SSL digital encryption. When you go to submit personal or sensitive information online, the encryption software effectively encodes your information then it is sent across the internet. This could possibly be intercepted but even if it were, the person nabbing it wouldn’t be able to make sense of it at all. Once the information reaches the intended place, in this case the online casino, the information is then decoded so it can be used effectively. When the online casino sends important information back to you, the process is the same.
Another way to ensure the security of online casino sites is through licensing. These are granted by reputable authorities within the gaming industry. Having a license means the site is trustworthy and secure. In order to maintain their license, online casinos have to continue to perform to these high standards as they are continually monitored and inspected.

While these same people complain about the internet’s piles of useless stuff, they forget that there are some really great places online for education, for networking, and for fun. The same Australians who whine about silly internet content are probably the exact same Australians who love to head to the city casinos and play a few rounds at the tables or slot machines when they have time. They are probably the exact same Aussies who love to gamble when time permits. These are the exact people who should be thinking about online casinos in Australia.
At first, these internet-phobes may think that finding a fun, reputable, established online casino that does business in Australia will be hard to find and will require hours of searching and sifting through electronic garbage. Nobody likes to waste precious time, especially Down Under. However, nothing could be further from the truth. A great gambling website is only a few clicks away.
At the Lucky Nugget Australia Online Casino, http://luckynuggetcasino.com/au/, which has been in operation online since 1998, all the very best casino games are offered in one single professional, responsible environment. For fun and a bit of a thrill at one’s own convenience when one has the time, the Lucky Nugget website is the place to go, no fruitless internet search required.
For online casinos operating in Australia, the Lucky Nugget is great because not only does it offer over 400 of the best casino games, it lets users try before they buy. Furthermore, great customer service is provided 24/7, and the website shows its responsibility towards its customers by providing links to websites about gambling. Ethical online casinos want their clients to have fun, but they want their clients to have fun responsibly. Most online outfits have no scruples about taking money from those who are addicted and make no provisions to direct their self-destructive clients towards help. An ethical online casino, like the Lucky Nugget, will have the help information on their home page, in a highly visible location. An ethical website will want everyone to have a good time!
Online casinos in Australia are a great option for busy people who don’t want to sift through hours of useless websites to find a gem of a gambling site. Gaming and betting can be done at home when one doesn’t have the time to go to the slot machines at the hotel on the corner, and it can be done at an ethical website where responsibility and fun both matter.

Social gaming is a hot topic and the amazing success stories of social gaming companies such as Zynga and Double Down have many in the industry taking a second look at the potential of social gaming. Zynga’s Texas Hold Em game on Facebook has millions of regular players and their new online bingo game had over one millions players a month after its release on Facebook. Since Facebook has 900 million regular users worldwide many in the industry say that Facebook could easily become the most valuable player acquisition took in history. In April the enthusiasm for social gaming was obvious at the 12th annual Global iGaming Summit and Expo held in San Francisco Zynga’s hometown. The conference drew twice as many participants than it did in 2011 largely as a result of the December decision by the Justice Department which has cleared the way for states to offer legal online gambling.

Since the decision Nevada has taken applications for internet gaming licenses and many states are expected to follow Nevada’s lead. Many believe that soon legalization will create a multibillion dollar a year business in the US. Legalization could also clear the way for real money gambling on Facebook. Some casino companies are getting ready for real money social gaming. International Games Technologies and Caesar’s Entertainment have already spent $700 million acquiring social gaming companies like Playtika and Double Down. Large corporations do not spend that amount of money unless they are sure that legalization will take place soon. Simon Burridge, the chief executive of Virgin Games, told the iGaming Summit “Social gaming is obviously the coming thing and in some sense it has already arrived. Social gaming meets [real gambling] is the high ground of the future.”

Jim Ryan, the co-chief executive of Bwin.party Digital Entertainment, spoke about internet bingo and gaming companies. Ryan stated “As an industry we have missed the ball. Bingo is easy. That is the one and only social game that our industry has gotten right.” Internet bingo is a game that fits perfectly into the world of social gaming. Speakers said that identifying the intersection of social gaming and gambling is important. Although internet bingo does not draw high rollers it is a very social game. Burridge told conference attendees “People meet spouses while playing Bingo. They come to play at a site because of the people that they play with, and that makes the site very sticky. “Malcolm Graham, the chief executive of online gambling firm PKR, predicted a bright future for social gaming on Facebook and said “We have all missed the opportunity to build tournament-style gambling games (for no real-money betting) on Facebook. But in the next 12 months to 18 months, our gambling industry will move onto Facebook.”

In the UK we often associate gambling with food; not necessarily on a literal level of course, though a bag of chips after a big bingo win in the town is something many of us are quite partial to. The connection in question is actually in the imagery we find in casinos and on bingo and gambling websites across the country and around the world.
The most obvious example of this is found on fruit machines, as they are known here in the UK; across the pond they are more commonly called slots, but that does not mean that you will not find pictures of apples, oranges and cherries on the screen.

Bingo is no different; whether you’re talking about Christmas Cake (number 38), Heinz Varieties (that would be number 57) or two fat ladies (which is, of course, no. 88); there are plenty of foodie terms that fly about if you are playing with a caller who knows the full list of bingo calls that we use in the British version of bingo.

Online bingo sites have started to get in on the action too; Tasty Bingo has made a great success out of using this imagery to entice potential players. Using language that we associate with cooking, dining, and more importantly, food advertising when interacting with players, as well as running themed competitions, sites like this increase their user base a great deal just by being a little bit different.

The bad news is that there is no real insight as to why food is so effective when it comes to advertising gambling. Perhaps it is down to the social aspect of eating that we are all so familiar with; playing a game of bingo, online or on the high street, is a social event akin to going out for a meal with friends; after all, there is plenty of opportunity for chatting, drinking, and spending your winnings on a nice meal out anyway.
Of course, it might not be down to anything so deep when we consider the success of this imagery online or when it is used on slot machines and the like. Perhaps it is simply the prospect of the most delicious prizes and the most fun free online bingo UK players have access to that makes sites like Tasty Bingo such hot prospects to people looking to play.

In the 60’s massive bingo halls appeared in cities throughout the UK. The two major operators at the time, Mecca and Gala, are still in business and both have large internet bingo operations in addition to their bingo halls. Recently Rank Group, which operates Mecca bingo halls, invested millions in refurbishing several bingo halls and casinos to appeal to a new generations of players who are seeking a ‘Night out’ experience in addition to bingo games. British tabloids have featured bingo games for decades. The relaxation of advertising standards for bingo and the smoking ban have led to a boom in the internet bingo sector.

During the past four years internet bingo has experienced astounding growth. According to recent data from BingoPort bingo generates £300 million annually from 400,000 regular players. Most people look at bingo as more of a social activity than a gambling activity. Because of the game’s long association with churches and charities bingo is a considered a ‘soft’ form of gambling by most people. Figures also show that the stigma associated with gambling is decreasing partially because of the National Lottery which was launched in 1994.

The most recent British Gambling Prevalence Survey (BGPS) said that a majority of those surveyed did not classify bingo or the national lottery as gambling. Survey participants did not like to answer questions about bingo and the lottery when they were classified as gambling. Research showed that before 2000 bingo was largely the domain of working class women who considered bingo as an opportunity to socialize at a low cost. In 2000 Britain had a massive bingo revival. Industry observers say this was because of the relaxation of advertising standards and because new bingo halls were built with computerized screen and other amenities like free parking, air conditioning, comfortable seats, bars and good food at reasonable prices. In 2007 bingo halls were hit by the national smoking ban and players numbers dropped dramatically.

This year’s British Gambling Prevalence Survey showed that 9% of the UK population had played bingo on the internet or offline during the past year. The survey showed that a new type of bingo player has emerged; those that play exclusively online. Younger people are joining in the fun and 10% of those in the 16 to 24 age bracket said they had played bingo during the past year. Out of this group more played bingo online than at live bingo halls. The British bingo market continues to grow but experts are predicting a slowdown this year. So far there is no indication of this and the market is thriving.

Instead of the prohibitionist approach taken in the United States the UK set up a Gambling Commission and gave it the authority to regulate all aspects of the internet gaming industry. The move has been highly successful and has been copied by several European countries. The gambling commission has also been able to tax offshore websites by establishing a point of consumption tax. Previously gaming sites were able to avoid taxation in the UK by locating offshore in jurisdictions such as Gibraltar, Malta and several other licensing jurisdictions.

The UK Gambling Commission was established by the Gambling Act of 2005. The commission is also charged with the responsibility of testing all gaming software to make sure all games are random and fair. Although the commission does not resolve disputes between gaming sites and players they will investigate complaints about possible violations of the internet gambling laws. The commission ensures that internet bingo players playing at sites licensed by the gambling commission can have confidence that the operator adheres to the strict rules set by the commission. Under the gambling act internet bingo is classified as ‘remote gaming.’ The gambling commission established a ‘white list’ of approved licensing jurisdictions but some big changes are in store for overseas operators.

Although all sites doing business in the UK must adhere to the regulations set by the Gambling commission each individual bingo site has its own set of terms and conditions. Players should always read these before signing up at any internet bingo sites. Here is a list of typical terms and conditions.

1. By playing at ‘site x’ you agree to abide by all of the terms and conditions.
2. Players must be of legal age set by the jurisdiction where they are located. Players must be at least 18 years old to play.
3. Participation in games at ‘site x’ is only open to residents of jurisdictions where internet bingo and gaming are legal.
4. ‘Site x’ makes no representations or warranties, implicit or explicit, as to the legal right to participate in bingo games.
5. Employees of ‘site x’ its licensees, distributors, wholesalers, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion or other agencies, media partners, retailers and members of the immediate families of each may not participate in bingo games at the site.
6. By participating in bingo games the player acknowledge that they do not find Bingo Games or Bingo to be offensive, objectionable, unfair, or indecent.
7. Bingo is for entertainment purposes and non-professional use. All other uses are restricted.
8. Only one account pre player is permitted.

These are the most common terms and conditions found at most internet bingo sites. In addition to these bingo sites may add further regulations and terms. Players should also know that bonuses and promotions usually have their own terms and conditions and it is always advisable to read these.

Electronic bingo has created a long a bitter legal battle between casino operators and state and federal regulators. Federal prosecutors wasted million in a first trial where the defendants were acquitted of all charges. Vindictive federal prosecutors then announced plans to try the defendants a second time. The results were predictable. The jury handed the justice department a humiliating defeat. In the process tens of millions of taxpayer dollars were wasted. The whole battle was over electronic bingo machines that regulators say are really slot machines which are prohibited in Alabama.

Although federal officials have backed off the state’s attorney general Luther Strange is continuing the vendetta against electronic bingo. Recently Strange went so far as to ask the National Indian Gaming Commission to take action to ban electronic bingo machines on reservations where he has no authority. The tribe, which operates three casinos in Alabama, is justifiably offended. Daniel K. McGhee, Tribal Gaming Commission Administrator for the Poarch Creek Indians, said that his “biggest problem” with the attorney general’s action was the request to take action on tribal land. McGhee told reporters that “It’s an attack on sovereignty. Basically, he might as well be asking to be able to enforce certain laws in Florida or any other state.” He added “It’s offensive to tribes to make a request like that.”

Strange sent a letter to the commission requesting similar actions. McGhee said he is confident that the bingo machines are legal under current gambling laws. McGhee said that last year Strange sent a similar letter to the commission with a similar request. NIGC Chairwoman Tracie L. Stevens replied to Strange and said that the Poarch Creeks “may play electronic bingo so long as it otherwise meets IGRA’s Class II gaming definition.” McGhee s pointed out that “They did not have a problem with what we are doing here. I don’t see what he hopes to gain by a second letter.”

Strange has argued that the bingo machines operated on lands owned by the Poarch Band of Creek Indians are illegal according to the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act. Deputy Attorney General Sonny Reagan expressed frustration and said “It puts the state in an untenable position when you are enforcing the rule of law in the state but yet the National Indian Gaming Commission will not enforce the federal rule of law on tribal lands.” It makes one wonder what actions state officials would take against those playing internet bingo in Alabama in the privacy of their own homes?

Choosing just the right site for play however can seem difficult. There are after all, many online casinos that offer bingo for play. In order to find the perfect site for your playing pleasure there are a few things that you should keep in mind.

Secure Banking Is Critical – If you are entrusting an online bingo site with your money you want to be completely sure that your transactions are safe. Without secure banking anyone in the world could obtain access to your funding. Check to be certain that the site you choose offers secure banking

Sign Up Bonuses – Sign up bonuses are great and lucrative bonuses reflect the image of the online casino. Look for sites that offer good sign up bonuses. If the bonuses are good then you can be sure that the site offers good payouts as well.

Bonus For Deposits – Make sure that your chosen bingo site offers deposit bonuses and that those bonuses are not impossible to obtain. Some sites provide a bonus for your first deposit but also have such strict requirements that you are likely never to be able to take advantage of the bonus in the first place. Check to see what deposit bonuses are offered and what you have to do to get your bonus payout. You can also ask for additional payouts and bonuses. Some sites offer additional payouts besides their standard payout. Examples include loyalty bonuses and loyalty points for additional games. Sites that offer these types of additional benefits give you much more for your money.

Support Is Crucial – You should check each site that you are considering and make certain that support is offered 24/7. You certainly do not want to have to wait until normal banker’s hours to get the help that you need. Avoid sites that do not provide around the clock customer support either by phone, email or online chat.

These tips should help you to better understand what to look for when choosing the right online bingo site for your playing. Make sure that you have selected a reputable site and always check to ensure that the site offers security for your paying and playing peace of mind.

At local bingo halls children as young as 5 can play bingo games and the price of admission includes a meal. Most people consider bingo a wholesome pastime because of the game’s long association with churches, charities and other good causes. Most children have played bingo at one time or another. Many are familiar with the home version of the game and some were introduced to bingo at school where the game is used to teach various academic skills. The tradition of educational bingo dates all the way back to the late 19th century when the game was adapted for teaching purposes in Germany.

Now an anti-gambling group in Australia has made the outlandish claim that the children’s bingo games are ‘grooming’ children to become gamblers later in life. The Nowra-based Gambling Impact Society (GIS) contends that the holiday bingo games ‘lure’ children into bingo clubs and introduces them to the ‘thrill’ of gambling. The group also says that the games ‘normalize’ the practice of gambling and prepares them to gamble when they get older. Clubs NSW (New South Wales) calls the outlandish claims ‘ridiculous’ and said that bingo is as innocent as a game of marbles or a board game. The accusations by the GIS come in advance of the Federal Government’s gambling inquiry which will travel to Sydney to hear evidence from several groups including the GIS.

The GIS claims it received complaints from residents the Southern Highlands who said they were ‘alarmed’ by advertisements promoting “Kids School Holiday Bingo Popstars”. GIS chairwoman Kate Roberts claims that the bingo games ‘normalize’ gambling behavior in children that are too young to make rational and informed choices. Roberts told reporters “They are targeting young children who really don’t have the developmental, cognitive ability to make rational choices around risk and we believe it is very inappropriate to be marketing these sorts of games of chance.” In a somewhat spurious statement Roberts said “Often the poker machine areas are not too far away. We believe it is a deliberate marketing ploy to encourage family use of these venues in the holidays.” She also claimed that the games provided a babysitting service that allowed parents to gamble at the nearby pokies.

A representative for the bingo club disputes the claims made by GIS and said that the organization was “scraping the bottom of the barrel” in their claims. A spokesman from the peak body Clubs NSW pointed out the educational benefits of bingo and stated “Churches teach bingo, kindergarten teachers teach bingo, kids play it at home with their parents. The game itself is no more a gambling activity than playing marbles or monopoly. The suggestion that an adult will want to play a poker machine because they played bingo with mum or dad at their local club when they were five or six is close to the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard from the anti-gambling lobby.”
